Florida Aquarium Wedding - December 9th 2012

Heather & Rob were married outdoors on the patio at the Florida Aquarium. For those that don't know, the aquarium is located at the Port of Tampa which is also where the cruise ships leave from. Normally they leave earlier in the day but because of fog they were delayed giving the wedding ceremony a fun backdrop. It's crazy how big the ships are up close.

After the ceremony & cocktail hour the guests were invited in to the Coral Reef room for the rest of the reception. It's always fun to watch the reactions as guests enter the room for the first time and are greeted by the 500,000 gallon aquarium that makes up the entire back wall. Picture taking always immediately ensues as giant fish, moray eels, sharks & sea turtles swim past.

Heather & Rob were great. They're both easy going, open and ready to have a good time. The reception was a blast & the time just flew by with all the traditional activities & dancing. One of the highlights of the evening was when Heather's dragon boat team assembled for a group photo; many even brought their paddles. Also a big thanks to Natalie at the aquarium. I've worked at the aquarium quite a bit and it's great to see how Natalie is able to adapt to each bride & groom & their unique personalities & make their day all that it can be.

Wedding Ceremony & Reception at The Rusty Pelican in Tampa - December 29, 2012

                                              CONGRATULATIONS TO NIKKI & RAY

Nikki and Ray chose The Rusty Pelican as their venue, which is situated on the water with a mesmerizing view of Tampa Bay.   With about 200 guests, the reception was held in the Grand Ballroom.  The ceremony was initially to be held outside at the gazebo, by the water.  But because of a little early rain, the ceremony was moved inside the Grand Ballroom as well.  After the Ceremony, the guests went to the room next door for cocktails (where we provided a wireless remote speaker), while the room was reset for dinner.

Ceremony Music
Groom & Groomsman Processional:  (Vitamin String Quartet - "Helplessness Blues")
Bridesmaids Processional:  (Vitamin String Quartet - "Yellow")
Bride's Processional:  (Vitamin String Quartet - "Samson")
Recessional:  (Beatles - "Here Comes The Sun")  **Instrumental Version**

Following the cocktail hour, we had our Formal Introductions of the Wedding Party, Bride & Groom's First Dance, Parents Dances, Toast, & Blessing.  After the blessing by the Father of the Bride, we played Bride & Groom Trivia for the guests to win the opportunity for their table to go through the buffet line next.  Once everyone went through the buffet, we had our formal Cake Cutting with cup cakes being served as well.

Introductions, Formal Dances, & More...
Parents Intros: (Kenny G - "Stop & Go")
Bridal Party Intros: (Chris Brown - "Forever")
Bride & Groom's Intros: (Ray Lamontagne - "You Are The Best Thing")

First Dance: (Drew Holocombe - "Hung The Moon")
Father/Daughter Dance: (T Carter - "Daddy's Angel")
Mother/Son Dance: (Rascal Flats - "My Wish")

Cake Cutting: (James Taylor - "How Sweet It Is")
Bouquet Toss: (Beyonce - "Single Ladies")
Last Dance: (Fleet Foxes - "Can't Help Falling In Love")
Formal Bubble Exit: (Colbie Caillat - "Bubbly")

Time for Dancing!!  Even though it was an early afternoon event, the dance floor was always packed.  We played mostly American Top 40 with some Egyptian Music sprinkled in.  The guests loved doing the Cha Cha Slide, Cupid Shuffle, & The Wobble!!  There was even an impromptu Hora.  No one wanted to party to end.  But all good things come to a close.  And our close came with a formal exit out front of the building with a lot of bubbles being blown as our bride and groom head off on their new life together as husband and wife.

This event would not have been as fantastic as it was without a great team of talented and professional vendors.  First and foremost, special thanks go out to the event planner, Kimberly Hensley.  She has been working over 6 months with this client, planning, hiring, decorating, and coordinating ever aspect of this event.  Everything was perfect with her at the helm.  And of course, special thanks to the other fantastic vendors!
