Wedding at Forlini's Italian Restaurant Clearwater 5/18/13

Flowers Davis Reception

Josh & Jamie were married on the beach in Clearwater with the reception at Forlini's. They hired a beach limo to shuttle guests from the ceremony to the reception. Forlini's is an elegant Italian restaurant owned and operated by brothers Paul and Luke Forlini. It made for an intimate setting where guests were free to mingle as well as enjoy the full service bar.

I asked Josh if he would like to say anything after the toasts and he said he would likely need to after his brother/best man Stephen was done "toasting" him. He was right. When your best man is also your brother, he's bound to have some dirt on you. He shared the story of how Josh & Jamie met at The University of Arkansas. It involved copious amounts of alcohol on Josh's part, possible vomit and definitely passing out. Perhaps not the best first impression but it obviously worked out just fine. Not to be outdone Maid of Honor Hannah felt it was in the guests best interest to know that Josh, given the right circumstances loves to sing Adele songs. Josh took it all in stride. (Even when I kicked off the dinner music with Adele.)

The guests were all lively from the start and danced in between the amazing courses served by the staff. After dinner we moved on to the cake. It got a bit messy when Jamie decided to decorate Josh's face with cake.

After the bouquet and garter we really cranked up the dance music. Jamie and Josh had me light up the back wall with L.E.D. up lighting. We kept it their blue wedding color up until dancing when I switched them to blend through the color spectrum. Unbeknownst to Josh, Jamie did in fact plan on Josh singing. She said he's not great but has a blast with it. She had chosen Proud to be an American, a favorite of his. He did indeed have a blast with everyone joining in for the singalong.

Sweet 16 at The Tampa Club

Elena's Sweet 16

Nothing but dancing all night long! Oh and birthday cake. Nothing but cake and dancing all night long! There was actually another sweet 16 going on at the same time on the other side of the building. The best part of the evening was when teens from that party came over and said "This party is so much better." That's right, Music on the Move and Elena are in the building.
As always, thank you to Sandra and her staff at The Tampa Club for another fantastic job.

Wedding Reception - Honeymoon Island 5-4-13

Rob & Donna's beach wedding

If you're going to get married at the beach, Honeymoon Island is a natural choice. A gorgeous sunny day and we're still ahead of the oppressive summer humidity. The ceremony was beautiful with the ocean backdrop. Afterwards Rob & Donna took photos while the guests enjoyed cocktails and Rob's playlist filled with Bob Marley, Jack Johnson and other summer favorites.

The reception was held on the second floor of an outdoor covered deck overlooking the beach. Rob & Donna with the bridal party made their grand entrance right at sunset. There were heartfelt toasts by both Best Men, Jimmy & Joe and both Matron's of Honor, Bliss & Casey (Who came all the way from South Africa to attend.)

Once dinner was finished and the cake was cut, the party kicked in to high gear. Lots of dancing and everyone seemed to have fun posing in the big empty frame. A high light of the evening was when Donna's brother got to dance with their mom. They had missed out on the mother/son dance at his wedding.

Wedding Ceremony & Reception at Grand Plaza Hotel St. Pete Beach 4/20/13

Anthony & Genna Tie the Knot

Anthony and Genna’s ceremony and reception was at the Grand Plaza on St. Pete Beach. For the ceremony, the Grand Plaza created a bamboo archway with a tropical plant backdrop on the beach. The walkway leading up to it was lined with palm trees. Genna couldn’t help but smile for the entire walk down the aisle.

Bridesmaids: Marry Me - Train
Bride: A Thousand Years – Christina Perri
Recessional: This I Swear – Nick Lachey

The ballroom was beautiful and the teal highlights accentuated the tropical beach vibe. Anthony and Genna’s stylish gobo with seahorses really set the dance floor off. Once the sun went down the uplighting really made the room glow.

About half way through Genna and her father’s dance and then Anthony and his mother’s dance we invited all the fathers and daughters and mothers and sons do join in. It was a really sweet way to include the guests.

After a fabulous dinner the night ramped up into a great party. The guests were a fun and lively bunch that really enjoyed dancing. By the end of the night all of the groomsmen had managed to remove their shirts but retain their vests. Anthony said they all thought they were Magic Mike. So it’s no surprise that Ginuwine’s Pony went over well.

Katie Shepherd and her staff did a phenomenal job with everything. I noticed Katie’s fingernails were painted teal. I asked her if she had planned to coordinate with the wedding colors, she laughed and said it was just a fun coincidence.
